Saipan Stargazing Tour Review | Best Place to See the Milky Way in Saipan ⭐
One of the most unforgettable experiences during my trip to Saipan was the stargazing tour.
When we first landed, the sky looked pretty cloudy, and I was worried we might not see many stars. But luckily, the weather cleared up later in the evening, and it turned out to be the perfect night for stargazing in Saipan.
Pickup & Arrival
The guide told us that this was one of the clearest nights recently, with more stars visible than usual. We definitely felt lucky!
Stargazing Experience
The guide prepared mats so we could lie down comfortably while watching the stars. It was such a peaceful experience just lying on the mat, looking up at the sky while listening to the guide explain the constellations and the Milky Way.
If you love nature or photography, stargazing in Saipan is something you really shouldn’t miss.
How to Take Star Photos with an iPhone
For iPhone users:
1) Increase the exposure to the maximum
2) Turn on Night Mode
3) Set the exposure time to 10 seconds
4) Keep your phone completely still
If you follow these steps, the stars will appear clearly in your photos.
We also tried using a Samsung Galaxy, but honestly the iPhone captured the stars better.
Phones we used:
Me: iPhone 13 Pro Max
My mom: Galaxy S25
Milky Way & Shooting Stars
We were also lucky enough to see the Milky Way and even multiple shooting stars that night.
If you're planning to join a Saipan stargazing tour, don’t forget to prepare a wish in advance! 🌠
Stargazing Time
There were several groups visiting the spot, and everyone took turns taking photos. We spent about an hour stargazing, but honestly it felt way too short for me. I could have stayed there much longer.
The weather was cool and comfortable, and just lying down under the stars felt incredibly relaxing. The guide also sent us the photos the next day, which was a really nice touch. It made the experience even more memorable.
Tour vs Driving Yourself
You can also rent a car and drive to the stargazing spot yourself, but personally, I recommend joining the tour. On the way there, there were no streetlights at all, and our mobile data didn’t work. If you’re not used to driving in very dark areas, it might be a little challenging.
So for convenience and safety, joining a Saipan star tour is probably the better option.
Seeing the Milky Way and shooting stars in such a peaceful place was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.
⭐ Saipan is truly a paradise for stargazing.
